MM220 came with a manual and a CD. I never needed them and you shouldn't either. CD in this photo is here to show you the size of the radio. I see someone has actually designed the manual and the package to have similar styling as the radio.
Radio has a wooden enclosure and it'll fit most environments with its secure black and silver colouring. Front face is made out of annoying "fingerprint" plastic. Front face is not as simple as some Tivoli Audios are but it's still uncluttered. It felt very intuitive to use right from the beginning.
PROS
  • Easy and intuitive to use
  • Line in (for MP3 players for instance)
  • Ability to play files over wlan straight from your PC
  • Zero breakups in wlan connection during the tests

  • CONS
  • Main command dial is a bit too hard to press
  • No Line-out

Using this radio is easy and straight forward from the first minutes. Sound quality is okay for a speaker of this size, near perfect for a "kitchen radio". MM220 has just enough bass not to sound thin. Similarly sized Tivoli Audio Model One has a bit more pleasing sound overall but it's also more expensive and has no internet radio capability. Still there is room for slight improvement on the output side as for some reason Sweex has not designated line-out connector that would allow users to hook the radio up with better speakers. You can always use the headphones plug but it's not the proper way. For non-critical background listening (which this is meant for) sound quality is good. On usability side there is one slight issue to complain about and that is the main knob that is bit too hard to press. Sometimes the whole radio moves on the table when trying to make a selection. Overall I was left with highly positive impression of the Sweex MM220 Wi-Fi Internet Radio.
